FLOATING WETLANDS
Floating wetlands are gardens that sit on the water’s surface. The plants grow on floating platforms, with their roots hanging directly into the water below. As water moves past the roots, the plants naturally take up excess nutrients and pollutants. Those pollutants end up stored in the plants themselves, so when the plants are trimmed and harvested, the pollution is removed from the water too.
It’s a simple, natural way to improve water quality-no chemicals, no machinery, just plants doing what they do best.

Available in a range of customizable solutions from sizes, shapes, functionality and capabilities.
Our Phytoflora Systems
Phytoflora systems clean water using floating wetlands that function like gardens on the surface of ponds and canals. Instead of relying only on traditional wetland plants, these systems grow commercially valuable plants, like flowers for bouquets, that naturally absorb pollutants while they grow.
As the plants are regularly harvested, pollutants are removed from the water, and the harvest plants can be sold. This helps cover maintenance costs and supports local jobs. By pairing water cleanup with plant production, Phytoflora offers a practical, eco-friendly approach that can sustain itself overtime.

Our Vision
Our vision is to transform the way communities manage water by reimagining canals, ponds, and farms as living systems that give back. We believe water infrastructure should do more than function, it should support healthy ecosystems, improve food security, and strengthen local communities.
By integrating nature-based solutions like floating wetlands, we aim to create resilient environments where water systems restore balance, generate value, and contribute to long-term environmental and community well-being.

What We Do
Green Thumb Strategies applies regenerative technologies that restore water quality, support biodiversity, and create local value. Through our flagship venture, Phytoflora, we bring productive floating wetlands to scale helping cities, farms, and residents integrate regenerative design into their landscapes.
Our work bridges research, engineering, and community partnerships to deliver practical, scalable solutions that strengthen resilience.
